Kiln dried beech logs offer a fantastic balance of heat output, burn time, and a visually appealing flame. Unlike some denser woods, beech tends to burn slightly more easily. It produces a particularly bright, attractive flame, making it a preferred fuel for users who value the aesthetic of their fire as much as the heat it generates. It's a consistently excellent choice, offering reliability and a warm, enjoyable fragrance.

What do beech logs look like?

Beech logs are relatively easy to identify by their smooth, silvery-grey bark. Even on larger logs, the bark remains thin and generally unfurrowed, giving it a sleek appearance compared to the rugged bark of oak. The wood itself, once split, is a light, pale colour, sometimes with a very slight pink or yellow tint. Beech has a dense, uniform grain, meaning it splits reasonably cleanly and the resulting log pieces feel substantial and heavy, reflecting their excellent heat-storage capacity.
